The author of First Blood, published in 1972, has written over thirty books, including the renowned Brotherhood of the Rose series. As a co-founder of the International Thriller Writers Organization, he is considered a pioneer of modern thriller literature. While he was not involved in the screenplays for the two Rambo sequels, he did write their novelizations (book adaptations). Visit his website to explore all his works. You will also find a page where he shares insights into the creation and writing of First Blood.
The artist who created the storyboard for First Blood also worked on Conan the Barbarian, Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Hitcher, Predator, the zombies of the cult classic Return of the Living Dead, Masters of the Universe, and many more. Above all, he is a highly imaginative illustrator. He has worked in comic books, book illustrations, poster design, vinyl record covers, mural paintings, and has mastered the art of depicting prehistoric life. William is simply incredibly prolific. Go check out Scott Hardy's website. It lists all the filming locations of First Blood, along with plenty of fascinating information about Hope and its welcoming atmosphere during the shoot. Scott has been a tremendous help to me—almost a partner!
The town of Hope is real. It is located in British Columbia, and all the scenes of the film were shot there. Every year, the town celebrates the release of First Blood, attracting thousands of fans. It's a major event for local tourism. Brian McKinney, who runs the tourism office, has also been a great help in my research.
